I was looking at some lead counts and saw we had tripled leads on a certain category. And I was shocked to see it go up so much. So I quickly called up the ad guy at work.
"Why so many leads?"
"Oh, we tripled ad spend" - ad guy.
I was surprised that I'd overlooked a simple signal everyone wanting high conversions would want. Maybe they just want to have the power to amplify and know it will work.
Maybe it doesn't come up in conversation that much, maybe customers in the past haven't asked specifically for that.
And maybe I was just missing the queues that my value prop should be "you're able to triple ad budgets because I convert really well".
This is in fact the real signal to know if acquisition CRO is working in your organisation.
